Hershey's National Track & Field Youth Program

*The Estherville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the National Hershey's Track and Field Youth Program for youth 9-14 years of age (as of 12/31/10) from Estherville and the surrounding towns. The meet is sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association, the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, Athletics Canada, Hershey's Foods Corporation and Estherville Parks and Recreation.
*Events for the meet will include the 50 meter dash, 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, 1600 meter run, 4 X 100 meter relay, standing long jump, and the softball throw. participants can choose one field/two running events.
*Local winners will advance to state finals. Winners of the state meet are entered into a regional pool and become eligible for selection to a Regional Team which will travel to Hershey, Pennsylvania to compete in the North American Finals.
*Registration forms can be returned the Parks and Recreation Office. The registration deadline is Wednesday May 18, 2011. No registration will be accepted after this date or at the High School Track and Field the day of the meet.
